Short version
BLNK is a browser-only game. Your webcam feed never leaves your device. We do not run a backend, we do not have user accounts, and we do not collect, store, or transmit your video, your face, or any personal identifier to any server we control.
Camera and face data
When you start a round, your browser asks for permission to access your camera. The video stream is processed locally using Google's MediaPipe FaceLandmarker library, which runs entirely inside your browser tab. We use it to detect when your eyes open and close.
No frames, blendshape values, face landmarks, or derived biometric measurements are uploaded to any server. The slow-motion GIF generated at the end of a round is created in your browser and held only in memory until you close or refresh the page. Saving or sharing the GIF is your action and uses your device's native share or download feature.
What we store on your device
We use your browser's localStorage to remember a few things between visits:
- Your personal best blink count.
- Your mute preference.
- A local play counter used for cosmetic display.
This data lives only on your device. Clearing your browser storage erases it. We cannot see it.
Duels and WebRTC
If you start or join a Duel, your browser establishes a direct peer-to-peer WebRTC connection with the other player. The signaling information (an SDP offer/answer pair) is exchanged manually by copy-paste; we do not operate a signaling server. To traverse NATs, your browser uses Google's public STUN servers (stun.l.google.com). STUN exchanges your public IP address with the other peer, which is inherent to how WebRTC works. We do not record, log, or proxy this traffic. Game state and blink counts are sent peer-to-peer only.
Analytics and tracking
BLNK does not run third-party analytics, advertising trackers, or user-identifying cookies. Standard server logs from our static host and CDN may record anonymous request metadata (IP address, user agent, timestamp) for the limited purpose of serving the site and preventing abuse. We do not combine that data with anything that identifies you.
Third parties
- Google Fonts — loads the Anton and Inter typefaces. Subject to Google's privacy policy.
- MediaPipe Tasks Vision — face-tracking model files are loaded from a Google-operated CDN on first use.
- Google public STUN — used only during Duels for WebRTC NAT traversal.
Children
BLNK is not directed at children under 13. Because we do not collect personal information, we do not knowingly collect any from children.
Your choices
You can revoke camera permission at any time through your browser settings. You can clear all locally stored data by clearing site data for this domain. Because we hold no server-side data about you, there is nothing to request or delete from us.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top. Continued use of BLNK after a change means you accept the updated policy.
